yes thats what i was thinking, from the back it looks like a hex but then it goes and curbes at the front. its 5 gallons. the rockscape i really like, plenty of shelves for frags.

They are a 1W LED striplight (the modules, fixtures are too big) people have complained about lack of growth when compared to other fixtures but I cannot say anything.
Here is a neat little fixture on sale:
Hydra Aquatics Retina I LED Fixture
And instead of a PAR30 why not gut that little LED fixture and put some of these in?

i really love that little fixture, i may go with taht. im not good at all with electronics so i dont know if i could functionally wire the strips into that fixture. i have no idea how. could i grow sps under that other fixture the little one? because thats cheaper than the par30 with the lamp clamp. and looks nicer.

In order to help, I have numbered my answers.
    1. Glad you like it. It uses Samsung LEDs or something and I'm not sure on the spread. Ask Marinedepot.
    2. All you would have to do is undo some screws, take the plastic guard off the fixture. Then pop out the LEDs in there and stick the strips on the little black shroud from which the LEDs protrude. Wiring wise, all you have to do is soder a wire to the driver at one end and voila!
    3. I have no idea, look up samsung LEDs see if you can get some data.

    EDIT: Here is more info

Despite being pocked into a tight area, the LED are surface mounted (SMT) diodes without any optics to focus the light. This gives you a wide, even spread of light ideal for smaller tanks mimicking a single point light source. While the intensity will peak right below the light fixture, there will be enough usable light to cover most small to moderate sized nano aquariums.

And some vids from our friends at AA
