I've heard that copper safe marine max is a good supplement or preventative for marine aquariums? Has anyone ever used this additive and what are your comments on it?

I've never used it so I cannot comment negatively nor positively.

I think you'll have a difficult time getting good answers from even people that have used it. It's not like they can ask their fish, "You've now been receiving a probiotic for the last month. Do you feel that you are less susceptible to ich?"

Lol I get you. I guess I should rephrase, is it 100% reef safe?

Just saw your post. I am a proponent of Marine-Max. I have given this advice; use Marine-Max by Tropical Science in your aquarium. It is all natural and boosts the fished immune system to keep them strong enough to ward off diseases. Dose it one day before you add a new fish. You can also add it after water changes (stress) to help the fish maintain a healthy un-compromised immune system.

I had an occasion where I added to the tank and 2 of my fish got ich. I immediately added the Marine-Max and within a 48 hour period the ich was gone. All fish have thrived. I dose once in awhile (especially after major intrusions into the tank and water changes). Like Curt said, the fish can't tell you.....or can they? The fish had ich, Marine-Max added, no more ich...so maybe they are telling us. Anyway, I use it along with Marine-Clean.

Do you mean, does the M-M help them out? Or, did you mean were there any ill effects? I have a tank full of coral, inverts and fish. The product is all natural bacteria of different strains if I remember correctly, completely safe.

Yes, I was wondering if there were any ill effects on the inverts and corals. Thanks for the answer.

this marine clean...does it work in conjunction with marine-max or is it used for other purposes??

I've heard lots of good things about marine-max and am eagerly waiting for my order to arrive!

Marine-Clean has different bacteria and oxygen booster to help disolve (eat) sludge to keep the tank clean. Marine-Clean, Tropical Science | Pet Solutions

I add right after a water change(once a month). In my Biocube every two weeks (small tank - water change every 2 weeks).

Ok good to know because I ordered some stuff on drs forster&smith a while back. Needless to say, I forgot what I orderd waiting for it to get to Trinidad.
With the package, came a gallon bottle of marine max which I ordered.
Thanks for the info. I was just worried that it wasn't reef safe.
