How often should mantis shrimp be fed and what is good to feed "smashers" like the peacock?

just keep a healthy supply of hermits/snails, Davy (my current mantis) prefers hermits, so i generally order 20 at a time from an online supplier, and he picks em off as he pleases. but i also ween my mantis' onto freeze dried krill.in an effort to mix the diet up, and cause the krill are dirt cheap!HTH

I fed my N. wennerae live snails, and hermit crabs, but he prefered snails. I also gave him saltwater feeder shrimp, for entertainment purposes, and on occasion i gave him vampire crabs when the LFS got them in. And frozen Mysis/Krill

since you were wondering about how frequent mantis shrimps feed, i received 20 blue leg hermits on friday, and Davy who is roughly a 3 inch mantis, killed/slaughtered/massacred/ingested 6 in the first 24 hours

I fed my mantis (Bob a 11" peacock) frozen krill with Selcon at least 4x week. Then about 1x a week I would find a large turbo snail for him to munch on, sometimes 2x a week. I too kept turbo snails in that tank, and generally she did not touch them until I pulled them off the glass and dropped it in front of her
