    They mostly come out at night to avoid predation. Get some red celphane and put it over a flash light lens half hour after lights out and enjoy the show!

    Is it possible to grow a copepods population in a separate tank or something so you can feed the mandarin?

    My refugium grows them and now I have them all over the place. In my sump and over flow and prefilter.
    My Long hair polyps that grow on my back glass has this pocket and there are loads of them hiding in there also. I watch them while in the kitchen. My mandran is getting big and fat.

    They will come with time. So go slow and let it grow.

    Yes, it works best when you have your refugium above the tank where you have a gravity feed back to the display tank.
