+1 All the yellow tangs too they must have been schooling (the tangs at least) I can't see how otherwise that would work even in that big of a tank. Wow and more then one Emp. in a 70g... SHEESH.. that would have made for some brutal fights.

    The driveway pic proved that.

I have 13 FOWLR tanks. I would never copper any of them. There is lots of life in a tank besides what we intentionally put in there. A DT isn't a hospital tank, IMO, so I would not use it as such.

What a terrible loss, I hope he learns to stock more carefully in the future.

Thanks for the insight Incognito, I have never had a FOWLR or even a Fish Only tank so I didn't know. I had assumed that this didn't have the Live rock because He had said there were no places for the fish hide etc. Maybe like all just open water. I too 100% agree I would never put coper in with live rock. But if it was a fish only tank that had "painted" or other decor that wasn't living and there was a huge outbreak I would consider it. You would want to run carbon after etc. But remember not in a fish w/ live rock tank, only in a Fish only with other decor (you know like the tanks at red lobster ;) )

The problem with ICH is that there are 3 major stages, 2 of which we can't even see. So even if he bathes the fish in copper, theres still the microscopic catalysts in the DT. Basically, he can heal the fish from the visible parasites in the QT, but once he puts them back in the still infected DT, they just latch on in a matter of days within the re-introduction of the DT.

I believe he should have learned the first time but he kept on buying fish like he was the Energizer Bunny. Instead of waiting for everything to get better he kept going and going and going and .........

He had live rock in his tank. Looking for a pic of his DT.

    He should have joined 3reef.

    So very true.
