Started the day out meeting Curt in person. He and Schackmel are very good people. I really enjoyed hanging out with them both and enjoyed catching Marc Levesons talk together.

After we parted ways I hung out with other old friends that I won't see again for months or maybe a year. I'm relieved it's over but sad at the same time.

Good thing I scored heavily in the raffle to pick up my spirits. ;D

Marc Leveson aka Melev begins his presentation covering why it's important to own a PAR meter.

    Today's raffle bagged me:
2 120 gallon buckets of Avito Salinity salt mix. I gave one to my buddy from Sioux Falls. He's a newly wed student w/ an expecting wife and money is tight for them. He only has a 29G cube so that bucket should save him some money in salt for quite awhile.
    SeaSide Aquatics media reactor
BashSea Media Chamber. The girl at the pick up window dropped and cracked it. GIRS is sending me another in the mail.
An Eshopps Realistic Frag Rock. This one has the matching plugs LOL.
    SeaChem Reef Zoo and Phytoplankton

    Gifts from vendor friends
    Eshopps ADV-200 Refugium/Sump
Eshopps 16X16X8 Frag Tank. Used for displays at shows but I'm not gripin.
4 foam covers for the MP-40

Free Swag from all 3 days

And my favorite of all goodie. I paid for him but still got a steal. He acclimated perfectly and is already eating like a little piggy.

Wow, what an awesome thread. Thank you so much for posting. How you going to get all of that stuff home, lol. I'm happy for you and a little jealous at the same time.

I would hope so. Register now for all 3 days and it's only $85

No problem. You must have missed it but the shot of all the free/won stuff and of my Mystery Wrasse were taken at home. I had to have help carrying all of the stuff from the event hall to the van though lol.

MACNA is the premier show in the USA for our hobby. Vendors come from all over the globe to attend and the big names like SeaChem, MarineLand, Eshopps, D&D, etc. etc. come more to show off new products than to sell old. It last 3 days and almost every booth has something to give away. There's a raffle every afternoon and the grand prizes are extraordinary. This year it was a 4 day Caribbean cruise for 2. Not to mention all of the big tank packages they gave away today as well.
If you ever get a chance attend one. Small trade shows are a lot of fun but none I've ever attended have created memories like MACNA does.

It looks like crap under my lights..until I get the Cree supps in and get more blue anyhow.

Right now it's an orange/brown with a bit of red but if you look in the first post it's in the first pic right after "eye candy". It's the branching red monti on the left, top center of the pic. Looks like it's laying down.

They DO adjust. Don't feel dissapointed. Patience is the key. It has taken a good 4 monhs for my rainbow monti to look any different from a sunset-monti. It just looked orange. Again, be patient.

It looks as if everyone has all their stuff under LED's. Which gives off great color, bur did you ask if they keep these under LED's all the time? or just for the display at the shows?

I have heard of plenty of folks saying that the color morph of most all sps is completely unpredictable if you are using all LED's on your setup.

FWIW... a lot of the vendors told me unsolicited they were just for show. :)

(edit - these were coral guys... all said they use 400w halides FWIW)
