MACNA 2011 really came through. Maybe it was just that epic spread of food at the reception on Friday night, but I really think this was my favorite MACNA yet. It had a great mix of new products and corals for sale as well as top-notch speakers. Best of all I met many 3reefers and sponsors face to face and we had a great time. There will be many updates over the next week or so covering new products from AI, EcoTech, CPR, Sea Swirl and more. But first some pics of the show!

    MACNA 2011 had the frags!

Looks like we will be going to the Lone Star state in 2012

    Money comes, money goes.

You are going to need a bigger tank.

I still love these nanos from Eheim.

Adding lights is easy on a light rail.

The raffle area was bigger than my apartment.

Great to meet Scott and his wife from The Alternative Reef!

Somebody won this reef-ready cube tank with tricked out illumagic LED light.

The Hydor rep told me the Smart Wave is on it's way… soon. Sigh.

I have to take a picture of this Deltec skimmer at every show. I can't help it.

An interesting diffuser setup on this Deltec.

I believe this was a self cleaning Vertex skimmer.

The New ATI Powercone 250 with controllable pump - LED flow meter not on this particular unit.

    The ATI controller.

The Powercone did kick out some dense bubbles.

The new EcoTech Radion LED lamps over some MP60 waves.

Somebody won these new Skyye lights!

The Ecoxotic Cannons get bigger at every show. This one is over 100 watts.

One of those Ecoxotic Panarama Pro LEDs that we just gave away on 3reef!

Playing with the remote was fun.

Good deals on nice skimmers at MACNA 2011.

    The new ATI Nano LED

A 1hp chiller would be nice to have around.

A crappy pic of some great skimmers from 3reef Sponsor Warner Marine

The ORA Edge tank was stunning with Ecoxotic cannons on it.

Some new corals and fish on the way from ORA soon.

    wow

those that went to Macna have seen more coral frags in a weekend , than I have seen in a full year

good to see images of people I recognise, but have unfortunately for me (not for them) never met

the top down shot of the round zero edge is excellent
as is the display tank with the ramped/ sloped frag rack arrangement
making it easier to viewers to see the full coral

Awesome Thanks for sharing! I say every year that I want to go. Perhaps next year. Did they announce where it is next year yet?

    Thanks for the pics!
Think I'd have to start saving now if I wanted to make next years, tho it would probably kill me not being able to bring home any of those corals! haha

    Katie,

It very well could have been your LFS. Hobbyists, Suppliers, and LFS owners from across the country (actually the world) all attend MACNA each year.

MACNA is a yearly event sponsored by MASNA.ORG and a new reef club somewhere in the US. Next years event will be hosted by the Dallas/Fort Worth Reef Club. They've already put up their web page for next year (and I already have my tickets ;) ). Homepage - DFW MACNA
