Great thread and video,K+ to you.I hope some others will join in,maybe a similar thread could help us better understand lighting intensities.Working with a 16inch deep tank(40b)I seem to be struggling with both.

Great idea and video. I just got a new cell phone and can't figure out how to answer the call - so, I'm very techie impaired. I would love to post a video but that's really pushing my skills LOL. I will enjoy very much reading and learning from this thread! I need to place a third PH in my tank and I'm not sure of where is the best place to put it. This informational thread will be extremely helpful for anyone in the hobby. I hope people with beautiful tanks on here will post.

Great idea & video! K+, I also hope others jump on this some videos. I too would like to see some lighting videos, especially LEDs. Maybe combination video since both play a big role in coral happiness.

The only problem with this thread is it shows me how crappy my flow is!

LoL! Well that's not the intention of it. :)

And, I don't know that I have good flow. I'm just showing what I think low, med, and high flow looks like so that beginners can have a better feel on what to look for as they're setting up their tank. I hope to learn something from this thread too. :)

Great idea for a helpful thread. Those purple stylossure LOVE flow dont they? Seems like the more I blast mine the happier it gets :) Your vid makes me realize most of my tank is mod-high flow with only a few spots truely being low flow zones.

    Thanks and hope it helps.

Yes they do like good, random flow. Mine was growing pretty slow, but I was able to get my pH up and my pod population stable in the fuge. It seems to be much happier these days with that and my current powerhead set up.

That's what I'm hoping to see is the variety of flow and the range of flows that various corals are kept in. I know what I have for flow in my tank, but have no real reference point for "medium" flow other than what I've got and have seen in my tank. Hoping we can get a few videos on here so that people have another point of reference when looking at what they have for flow and if a certain coral will be happy in their tank.

Thank you. I think lighting could be done to show how various fixtures are mounted or the types of lights that are used with certain corals. However, I think you'd have to be careful with making judgements on color. Every camera will show colors a little differently.

Mine grew slow the first couple months but now it grows fast enough to give my xenia some compatition. I would say it grows faster than any other lps or sps in my reef, the only sps that you might be able to compare it too in terms of growth rate would be a birdsnest
