Ok, I may be upgrading (already) to a 65G from my 40B, the new tank be 48"x18"x16" (1' longer than my 40), reef-ready, Starphire front glass, rimless, etc. and seeing as how I kind of rushed the first one (which thankfully has remained stable at all 0 with 1.025 SG and 8.0PH) I really want to make sure I don't mess up or go to fast and harm any inhabitants. My questions are:
    1) If my current tank is a little over a month old would I be ok to move fish, inverts, rock, and sand over? Or should I leave that tank run and just setup the new tank for another month? If I can should I just put the fish and inverts into a bowl (with something separating potential problems of course) and just drip acclimate them for a few hours with the new water?
    2) Will this finally be big enough for a Yellow/Purple Tang? (for I so love them)
    3) Any major problems with rimless? Light mounting?
    4) I heard Starphire is kind of soft, if that's true, will I need to keep special lookout or care?
    5) Will a single XP3 and a sump/fuge be enough for this tank?
    6) Will the 350GPH from the filter and a 500GPH power head be enough for most of the soft corals and some LPS/SPS?
    7) Do you think I should get an overflow cover (for aesthetics) or leave it glass? I've never seen a clear overflow before so I assume there is something visually annoying like plumbing? (but I think GlassCages' bulk heads and entry points are on the bottom?)
    8.) Will a 150W heater be enough?
    9) Since it will be a reef tank what do you suggest for rock? I've heard anywhere from 1/2-4lbs, which would be best (keeping a small budget in mind)
    10) If I were to later choose fish that can jump, what would be the way to prevent it in a rimless?
    11) About how many fish could I have if my only 'big' fish are a Yellow or Purple Tang and possibly a Fuzzy Dwarf Lion (I know about their eating habits, but I figure I'll give it a shot since my LFS has some with small fish, and they eat frozen)
    12) Will a 15G long be enough for a 3 stage sump/fuge? I already made it for my 40B so would it at least work as a fuge only? Or should I use the 40B as a 'presentable' sump/fuge and have it on it's own stand? (Any link to some tuts on DIY sump/fuges will be appreciated)
    13) If I got a Dragonet from my LFS that I saw eating flake/pellet/mysis, would he have a chance? I know I will still have to wait to get him as they eat pods no matter what, but if most is supplemented with flake/pellet/mysis will that work?
    And last:
    14) What is the perfered sand bed depth? Deep or shallow? if shallow would 45lbs do?
I thought 'Saltwater Fever' was over exaggerated, but in less than 2 months I've spent most my money and all I want is to keep going bigger! Hopefully a good sized rimless tank like this will at least be a keeper [STRIKE]if[/STRIKE] when I upgrade. Thanks for the time and help, I will be doing a lot more research on the Google.

If you currently have a 40 gal. and only been running it for a month i'd rec. keeping it up and running for few morw months before you switch over to a bigger tank. Make sure everything you already have is doing well and ur water parameters stay consitent. It is an addicting hobby and wanting to get alot sounds good but rushing it can have lots potential problems if u try moving to fast. ive had my 45 gallon for about a year and getting ready to move up to 100 gallon rimless. but if you've only had yours up for a month id rec. giving it a few more seeing how it does before u try switching over.

Purple is a def no. Tank should be 125 to 150 gallons min. Yellow is possible. If you get the Fu man chu then no dragonet or mandarin.

Also let your tank go for another few months. And IMO skip the 65 and plan for a 125 or something so you can get the fish you want and save up and let this tank go for a while in the meantime.

I jumped from a 45 gallon to a 120. Best desicion because you can keep pretty much any fish. Obvious large ones no.

Alright, thanks. I'll wait for a few months and try for a 100-150 gallon so I can try and get a Tang.
