looking to buy powerheads very soon

    ive heard of all these high name brand powerheads for these elaborate reef tanks but i am only setting up some softies and would like to know some information like how many gph would you reccomend and is there a whole big difference in the no name branders on ebay compared to the big name brand expensive powerheads (both are just moving water) what would you reccomend. i know sps tanks usually have 40-50x the tank i would assume softies would be less, thanks for any input

    I run 2 Koralia #1s on a 20g high tank. With them, the skimmer, and HOB filter I have approximately 53x turnover rate. I only have Zoas/Palys and Green Star Polyps and EVERYONE loves the flow. I would never go less than 35x turnover rate, but feel very comfortable recommending 50x+.

    I would go for the newer Koralia Evolutions if I were you. Best bang for the buck.

    do you know of any reasons why the name brands like koralia are better than say the no name ones on ebay? do they run hotter? consume more power? etc?
