Ill be bringing my lemon peel angel fish back to the lfs for store credit as it likes to eat my coral. I wondering what other fish would be out there that meets these criteria.

    1) fits in a 39gallon tank, I would like to as big as i can as it should be the feature fish.
    2) bright solid color(s)
    3) herbivore - i feed pellets.
    4) safe for coral
    5) non aggressive to other fish, snails, shrimp
    6) good beginner fish

You have some specific criteria there. Why does it have to be a herbivore? Most fish are omnivores, including your clowns and you should be feeding meaty foods as well as herbivore foods. You could try another type of angel like a coral beauty or flame angels, you may have better luck with one of those. There aren't many fish that fit your specific requirements. (On a side note, angel fish require a special diet. The fish may have been eating your corals b/c you weren't feeding it properly. I suggest you do more research into a fish that you want, particularly its eating requirments)

I have always kept a Coral Beauty. That fish is very active and will graze algae. I have never had a problem with it and the coral. They are a very hearty fish. Acclimate it for no more than 45 min. adding tank water to the floating bag about 15 ml. every 15 min. I think you will enjoy one of those.

I would suggest a Flame Angel mine has never ate any coral they are pricey but well worth it because of their stunnig coloration

i have a flame angel, it leaves the corals alone. I had a coral beauty for years it was an angel around corals and ate hair algae. Pygmy angels are also good and really pretty but are on the small side

well I guess it doesn't need to be a herbivore as the food pellets i use have meat in it. so sorry ill axe that requirement. I'm not tying to be complicated I just dont want a easy fish that wont bring problems to the tank or require any special needs.
