That's assuming you're only drinking the RODI, and not eating anything. I wouldn't worry about those trace bits if you eat even a bag of chips daily.

Organizations like the World Health Organization have been trying to prove drinking RO/DI or distilled water is bad for you for years and all their tests are inconclusive. The problem is a human cannot live on water alone andeating even one potato chip supplies more than what the RO/DI removes.

The only possible harm would be if you were a marathon runner or an Ironman participant where you severly tax your body and rob it of all its elecrolytes then drink nothing but RO/DI to replenish yourself. It would have to be an extreme example such as that.

In normal everyday life, we receive roughly 0% of the minerals and things we require from drinking water, its all in the foods we eat and supplements we take if any. Drinking RO/DI in normal amounts is not an issue. Personally I think it has a very bland, blah taste and its not refreshing so I choose to drink RO only and have done so for over 15 years now. Besides, RO/DI is more expensive to make so why waste it on drinking if it doesn't taste good to you?

Okay, I have a house water softener in my house. The water goes through the softener then through the RO unit under my kitchen sink ment for humans to drink out of.

With most RO systems, every mineral is virtually non-existent once it passes the RO membrane. But like mentioned earlier, the amount of minerals in your water is so miniscule compared to what we actually need, and what is found in food. Worry about getting clean water without the contaminants and carcinogens more than what minerals you are getting from your water.

People drink RO/DI all the time. We do not get our minerals and suplements from drinking water, its in the foods we eat. In order to cause problems with drinking RO/DI you would have to be able to survive on RO/DI alone with no solid food whatsoever, even one potato chip supplies more than several gallons of water. Organizations like WHO have tried to prove drinking pure water is bad for you but their studies are all inconclusive since people have to eat too and it negates the study. Just follow a balanced diet and you would never know the difference, you would probably be healthier since the water is more pure.
To me RO/DI is very bland or blah so its not worth drinking if it does not refresh my palate.

i have been told that you can drink ro water.

but you can't drink rodi water because human's needs some of the metals that are in are normal drinking water to live. how ever if you drink a cup of it. it is not going to do anything but if you drink it over a year it will have effects on your body.
