    pogs anyone??

Glad to say I never played magic cards. BTW just because they are on the same card stock as baseball cards doesn't make them basicly the same thing...sorry

I used to play pogs with my sister and I was just trying to get him a good pic of what type of things they are.

lol figures, at one point I had 3 of them and each mox. Its not the worst mistake I have made, I sold a Michael Jordan Fleer rookie card for $900 and they go for about 6-7k now.

At that time it was a $100 more then it was worth in the Beckett magazine so I thought I was doing great :). Easy come easy go, I still have tons of sports cards but none even close to being as valuable as that one was.

ha ha... yeah, they are like baseball cards only with rules. Heck, you could easily make a magic type game out of baseball cards.

I think it's funny when people that play fantasy football/baseball/pick your sport make fun of things like magic...

I like to think magic, etc. came about because someone was looking at baseball cards and realized how dumb and useless they were. (same dude that figured out they work well in spokes) Figured let's write some rules and make a game out of these stats... then realized sports is unimaginative and made "fantasy" cards.

I do have a big baseball card "collection". more like a handmedown. I use them to prop up things. baseball cards are the biggest waste of paper I have ever seen... what point are cards with no rule book? (I'm the guy that likes to play magic, et al, but makes fun of fantasy sports and sport trading cards :p:p:p

no, but them both being cards with a picture of some character with lots of useless stat info and both being based on a game make them basically the same thing...sorry

I do all of the above. Currently addicted to Fantasy Football! I understand where you are coming from but like any collectible it is all supply / demand driven and in the eyes of the beholder for value. If I looked back at all the money I have spent on Magic, Sports Cards, Fantasy Sport Leagues, and games in general I would probably have to be committed :)

You should see the looks of concern I get from my friends when I tell them how much money I spend on a piece of coral :)
