Yes i will be using the same one sump I got a unbeatable deal on a sump that is recommended for a 400gal tank $180 for everything except pump. So instead of buying a pump right now you say wait and buy one just for the 300gal?

Here's what I did.. I sent a message to another user Craigar with a 300gal setup with a setup to what you are looking on doing, asking what pump make & model he is using. They way you'll have a template on a pump for a 300gal & see if it can be backed down for a 75gal use.

This was Craigar's reponse.. "I'm using 2 rio 2400 gph return pumps pumped into a splitter I also have 3 korillawavemakers"

    Hope this helps...

As for the Reeflo pump you can back them down with a valve and they actually use less electricity. I would buy one for the 300g in mind so you don't have some laying around. Little Giant also makes a good external pump.

Very interesting thread, but I'm pretty new to the aquarium game and I'm getting ready to put together the plumbing for a new 150g tank. I see people using the letters "DT" can someone school me on that?

Does it stand for "display table"?

    Thanks in advance.
