    I think that is false. I have one and its been inside a cave without any light hitting it and Its still alive.

    False. Electric Scallops do not have zooxanthellae, therefore not photosynthetic.

    Hey now that were on this topic, has anyone kept a flame scallop for 3 years or longer? If so, what do you feed it?

    I tried a couple long ago. I don't think they make a good reef tank addition.

    Mine would scoot around until they got stuck under some ledge or crevice, where they would stay until dead. :-/
