Longnose Hawkfish

Are longnose Hawkfish reef safe? will they kill cleaner shrimp and my CUC of snails? I'm pretty sure I had one years back but it wasn't a reef tank.

 

just depends on the personality of the fish. if your looking at lfs then ask them if they have a specific one that doesnt.

 

it most likely will pwn cleaners, but probably not CUC lol

 

i have had one in my tank and he didnt tough my corals. very agressive tho

 

so snails would be fine but cleaner shrimp is toast?

 

cleaner shrimp in my experience most likely could fend for there own with just a long nose hawkfish, they dont get particularly large.

 

My longnose ate a shrimp or two but left the corals alone, the hawkfish has huge personality and is a super cool fish.

 

if its a large hawkfish and a tiny sexy shrimp it will eat it, but like a peppermint or cbs would most likely be fine.

 

so normal size scalett skunk cleaner and long nose hawk. clown and blue hippo tang will coexist along with 50 snails or so? and corals and a clam? basically the long nose hawk isn't going to eat any of this?
