    i bought a small purple and orange lobster a few days ago. i know that they eat ate nite so i was wondering how to get him out of hiding evey once in a while to see him.

    you can start tempting him with meaty foods during the day and eventually he may start coming out more ofter. as being nocturnal is his nature it may never happen, but keep trying and hope for the best(it kinda worked for my pistol shrimp, although he has never ventured to the point where i can see his tail...).

    Lobsters can be a bit reclusive so dont expect to see it out and about a whole lot.

    What is your current stocking list? If memory servers you have s 55g right? and seem to be adding livestock on a pretty consistent basis. What QT proceddures are you using?

    i have a couple urchins, 2 starfish, banded shrimp, lobster, 4 cromis, 1 damesel, blue & sailfin tang, foxface, butterfly, and a dragon goby. i do plan on getting rid of the damsels and chromise. how do i get it too come out a nite?

    wow...lotta fish. u will never see that lobster with so much movement in such a narrow space. might wanna think about upgrading soon!

    Both the tangs will out grow the tank. so yes

    your best bet is to get a led nightlight system it makes your tank look pretty awesome at the same time

    Use Red Light. It is the lowest in the spectrum and many animals don't 'see' red light, making them think its dark whilst you observe them... add to that it makes our eyes dilate the least, and its win win for night time observation.

    Is the lobster small? I never saw my pistol when young, but now he's out and about most everyday in the light. I know its not the same invert, but maybe a common theme?
