Call me a nerd but I just decided to take inventory on all the life in the tank (that I can identify) listing the common and scientific names.

I always try to get the scientific names for anything I can. I always include it when I post pics on my Flickr page. Got into the habit with the birds & flowers!

I prefer scientific, but now a days most hobbyist do know what your talking about and as with anything if you do not use it you loose it. I still refer to frogspawn, torch as all euphyllias and toad stool, sacrophytons, and then I have to include the common names, so I give up.

I have 24 different types of corals in my little nano, I am sure the actual number is higher though.

Corailline, have you tried the correct pronounciation of chaeto with anyone yet? The ch is correctly pronounced as K. I tried that with a couple of very knowledgeable people, they looked at me in confusion. So now I just call it cheeto and cringe inside LOL.

Dang I can not even get the correct pronounciation of chaeto. I only found out it was pronounced K two years ago. My dyslexia is so bad I am lucky I can spell dyslexia. I live for spell check, but until someone develops a grammar check the world will have bear with me. And for spell check it would be nice if they would get with the program and include marine aquarium and medical jargon. :cheesy:
