live sand?

    This may sound dumb, But what is live sand exactly, Is it coral sand.

    It is typically aragonite sand dredged from shipping lanes... It is packed in water to retain its beneficial bacteria and small amounts of bethnic inverts that sneak in. Polychaete worms and small copepods are unusual to have a stowaways in live sand.

    CaribSea has recently developed a OCEAN DIRECT sand that isn't packed in water, not only saving us all on shipping, but supposedly it has a longer shelf life as well.
    Unfortunately it doesn't have as many "colors" to choose from.
