No special feeding for snails, crabs, and volunteer filter feeders. I just feed my fish and they get the leftovers.

Polythoa aka saucer polyps will feed on pretty much any food you throw at them. Don't worry about feeding it, it can do just fine with lights alone until you get some fish. Saucer polyps are a comman hitchiker, but your snails aren't, good score. The saucer polyp will most likely spread new ones for you, so keep that in mind when aquascaping your tank. As mentioned above, polythoa contain polythoa toxin, a pretty harsh nerve toxin. It shouldn't scare you to much, just wash your hands after handling it and beware of getting it's juices (from cutting it) in any open wounds.

oh, and for catching damsels, go to the local fly fishing shop and get the smallest hooks you can. A little frozen food/shrimp and you get to be the first person in the midwest who has ever gone saltwater flyfishing in the midwest.
