    Thanks!
I really hope they stay that way. We'll see what happens as things start to grow I suppose.

Thanks, but it's young yet. haha, I still have plenty of time to mess it up! (but hey, that's why I'm on here- to try to avoid that!)

I overheard a conversation at my LFS where it was said those purple rocks are just dyed, not actually coralline. Not sure how true it is, TBH, since it seems like coralline from your description. The part that gets me is that the coralline areas don't have as much red as the white areas, which means that there's no competition for real estate in the white areas, but there is in the purple.

They'll stay that way as long as your parameters stay good, if it is coralline. You just can't let the alk or calcium get out of whack.

I actually tanked (no pun intended) mine by having someone leave the lights on for 3 weeks and not putting any fresh water into it.... It was bad and It hasnt really ever come back from what it was.

I certainly hope that's not the case. I would be lying if I said I didn't wonder about that once or twice since they are so unusual looking. I would be incredibly disappointed if it was, especially since it was rather expensive.

I guess we'll see what happens as the tank matures a bit.

My Fiji did the same thing. I'm about three weeks into the cycle and most of it turned white from the green it was when it came. I'm starting to see some other colors and Now have about 4-5 small white growths that look like sponges.

I did the same the first two week with leaving the lights off. Now I'm turning them on a few hours a day too. I don't think you or I killed anything. from reading it's probably just the die off like others said and hopefully it comes back with even more color. ;D
