its best the "blue waving glove" died... that stuff is a horrible plague!! IT also ships horrible.

 

Bummer. I have heard a lot of bad things about odyssea lights.

My first tank I bought came with a 48" odyssea 250w mh fixture(w/4 power compacts and lunar lights). The only problem I had with that fixture was that every 6 months or so the exhaust fan would get clogged with dust and stop. I would have to blow it out with canned air.

It is also worth noting that changing the bulbs was a complete PITA!

But other than that it was a solid fixture. The ballasts are garbage but they never burned out so I never replaced them.

My fixture was an older one. I had it for about 2 years and sold it, I have no clue how long the previous owner had it.

For a dirt cheap fixture, it outlasted fixtures that are twice the price. Would I buy one again? If I was on a budget, definitely.

 

i have to agree their customer service is normally A1, i would try calling again and speaking to someone different. maybe you got someone new on the phone????

 

I haveto agree they use to b awesome now im questioning them.their post order customer service is great,but sometimes you need what you ordered. Like in my case live mysids for food for my new born cuttlefish...well they screwed up and my cuttles died.they refunded me for the mysids but what about the cuttles they are likely responsible for killing?

 

my only problem with LA is they can no longer seem to get their photo pictures color correct in the wyswyg section ( and seeing the color is why one orders from that site! )
lately i have been using the photo edit on this site that picks up what should be white and changes the picture, and color corrects it. but that still is a guessing game of what color will the item be when you receive it.
there is no reason they can't look at the item and see the color, use photo edit to correct the picture to accurate color. or get someone who knows how to use a camera!
