    today i bought new t5s for my tank they were reffered by the lfs and now my tank is really blue is that good for my coral growth

    blue gives high PAR value, but you should destinguish blue from purple. blue is at 450nm and purple or so called 03 bulbs are at 420nm. 420nm bulbs have very low PAR value.

    420nm bulbs are purple when you look directly at them 450nm are blue.

    Not enough info here. Give name of fixture and the bulbs in it.

    i bought two diffrent 48 inch bulbs one is a 54w t5 powerchrome actinic+ the other is a 48 inch korallen zucht 54w coral light fiji purple

    the par ratings for those bulbs according to Grimreefer are ;Fiji Purple 330,Actinic Plus 264(fixture dependent). that would be considered a good rating if you are happy with the color.

    well its a 55 gallon they are in a glo fixture i have a pink tip some zoas and a sps not sure what type it was givin to me i belive its a torch

    a 4 bulb fixture would be best for that tank, i believe. 6 would be better for the SPS (some would say minimum for SPS).

    i can take a new pic of the tank i have the two old bulbs should i get a new fixture and slap them in for now also any ideas how to get a mush room to grab something i was moving rocks around and found one lol bout 2 inchs in dia lol its a nice green
