Lighting

Hey i am looking to switch to T5 lights because i have gotten some corals. what fixture do you guys suggest? I've been doing some research and i like this one the best best it has timer, splash guard, and is affordable. any other suggestions? I have a 120g saltwater tank with power compacts right now.

new to saltwater, but thats the one I am looking at too it's got leds and a timer built in !

If I read the description correctly, it's one reflector for all 4 bulbs. You'll end up wanting to upgrade it later as the reflector(s) are the 2nd most important thing on a light fixture (besides the actual bulbs), so may as well look for something that has an individually contoured reflector (one reflector but it is specially bent to partially wrap around each bulb simulating 4 individual reflectors) or 4 actual reflectors (one for each bulb).

Actually, just checked that 2nd link and it DOES have individual reflectors (or it's at least an individually contoured reflector). Looks good to me.

If you look at the fixture you were just looking at getting...go to, "Images". It shows the underside & each bulb has its own reflector.

If I could afford the 6 or 8 bulb version of this I would certainly get it.

The TEK's are nice fixtures, the TEK Elite is little better than the standard as it has an active cooling system to make your bulbs last a bit longer & increase the PAR value a bit also.
