    Hello everyone,

I recently added one of those Home Depot flood lights as lighting for my sump/refuge. It is on 24/7 because I don't want my caulerpa to spread itself throughout the tank! However, the caulerpa does not seem to be doing so hot. It did attach itself to a rock in my fuge and seems to be throwing roots down into the DSB, but the leaves look pretty bad and it looks as if it's dying. Any tips on the kind of light I should have in order to help my caulerpa survive?

    -Mike

i'd probably go with a pc fixture with a 6700k bulb for plants. i'm sure a HPS light from home depot would make the plant go nuts but it would be waaaaay too hot.

I don't know what I got, I know it's not HPS becuase it is not hot at all! I can touch it and I don't get burned, but the caulerpa certainly is not going "nuts" under it!

Can I get a PC 6700K fixture from Home Depot? If not, where could I get one?

i got a similar setup from home depot but i got a coil power compact light that is rated at round 60 watts but only uses 19 or something. my bubble calupura is doing well, look for a coil bulb that has daylight on the pkg. i dont have the package any more but it should say something about replicating daylight brightness. doesnt have any kelvin stat on the pkg, but for 9 bux worth a try and works great for me.
