I'm thinking about getting a yellow watchman goby and idk if I wanna use a glass top. I was curious how many people use light diffuser (eegg crate) as there top. Does it take away from the light intensity? Should I just use a glass top?

It does take away from the intensity but not as much as glass. Bulk Reef Supply has some clear screen that I would suggest you look into.

They might have some bird netting. I would use 2 layers and off set them so the knots of one layer are in the middle of the hole of the other.

Haha score, I found some 1/4" mesh. I hope it'll work. Now I just gotta make my frame. I got 1/4"x1" peices of wood I'm gonna make it out of. Look for a build thread later today...
