Let's talk ecoBAK reactors...

What are you guys running? Do you have a video? What's your flow look like? Do the pellets tumble?

I've used ecoBAK in several reactors. Some have worked better than others... Let's see yours.

 

Really looking forward to this thread!! That's always been a question that seems unanswered!

 

I tried to mod a GFO/carbon Reactor to run pellets and it didnt really work. The model was a purely H2O reactor. Anyway, im posponing until i can get a better reactor. been thinking about one from avast marine

yes those kind of reactor (RO/Di housing) don't really work well...

I'd expect we will see people using Reef Octopus, NextReef, Aquamaxx, Avast, TLF and others...

 

Yeah, I kind of figured it wouldnt work so well but I though what the heck, and gave it a try.

 

I've found that the MaxiJet 1200 is a great match for 1 liter of ecoBAK.

 

Hey john what reactor do you favor or recommend for a 60g and how much ecobak? Also what size pump for that reactor

You need to run around 250ml of ecoBAK and a relatively small reactor. There are several out there and the smallest Reef Octopus model is highly recommended by users. Try it with a MJ900 and if it's a bit much, you can valve back the output.
