So I'm currently working on two tanks. And I'm noticing some things. Angels eat corals maroon clowns are mean gold banned shirnp might kill goby certain things don't go together. And had me thinking what's your opinion

In the ocean nature co exist in the beat way it can. The strong survive and mate to ensure best off springs the weak becosme food and cycle goes as always. Do u think this should be the same in our tanks? I would like to achieve the most natural environment I can for my fish but does that mean I should.control everything by moving out aggressive fish? PR fish that eat other fish? Is that not there waY of life? On a day to day basis in the ocean lol? I understand I don't want things eating my money but I think I'm more intrested in the natural beauty of the reef in my home then possible dollars loss. What do u think? Btw this just IMO and I'm a total noob! Lol

Well, I understand what you are saying, but the main difference between the ocean and ANY aquarium is that aquariums are CLOSED systems. Billions of gallons of water is much different than 10-500 (or even more) gallons. A fish that is aggresive in an aquarium will not be aggresive in the ocean, a fish that has ich in an aquarium would not have gotten ich in the ocean (most likely). In a closed system we do not get the nutrients, space, and overall 'circle of life'. For example, fish in the ocean find their food on their own, but in an aquarium there will be no way for them to just simply find thier food. In our tanks there is no way for food to naturally appear (except for a few cases....Ex. Mandarin Dragonet).

Control the environment since it is artificial. We usually add corals and fish that don't coexist in nature. We have Caribbean and Hawaiian fish with corals from the Atlantic and Australia and inverts from the Indian Ocean. Keep asking questions and doing research and you will have a much more harmonious and enjoyable aquarium for it.

Let nature run its course....... IN NATURE. These animals that we put in our tanks are only there because we put them there, it is our jobs to give them the best environment we can. So I would say remove aggressive fish and find them a new home where they dont terrorize your other fish.

Well put. It's not cool to let fish fight their way out of a situation that we put them in.
