I see a lot of talk about people having flame angels and coral beauty angels, but does anyone have suggestions or cautions for lemonpeel? I was thinking this might be my next fish... but wanted to see why I don't hear about them a lot. Thanks!

i think its because theyre a toich rarer than the flames and coral beautys. as with all dwarfs, they can be a bit aggressive, but more so if with other dwarfs. they come with a cautionary warning of possibly nipping at corals or clam mantles. theyre a great looking fish, and i believe kcbrad had or has one.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
All Angels weather dwarf or not are hit and miss. To add to the frustration what has been an ideal fish may turn into a coral and clam nipper. They may not eat the clam but the chronic picking causes clams to remain semi closed resulting in the clams demise.
A wonderful fish for the larger nanos and above, but if it turns on you remember you gotta get it out. The can take a liking to sponges, lps as well.

I know most angels don't go well together, but i've heard of introducing similar-like fish at the same time and having good results... would introducing a flame angel and a lemonpeel angel at the same time work out ok as long as they had enough room to find separate territories? Maybe? I'd like to have both but understand if it wouldn't work. Has anyone tried this?

haven't ever tried a flame angel and lemon peel together. Be interesting to try as long as you have time to watch interaction closely and have a back up plan for one of them if it doesn't work. I have a lemon peel angel and we enjoy it tremendously. Very active, in perpetual motion. Great fish. I only have soft corals, so can't say about LPS or SPS, but the lemon peel leaves them completely alone. He is always eating something off the live rock, can't see what as its too small.

Divott, I don't have one but was interested in getting one. However, I read they are one of the worst dwarf angels for coral and clam nipping. PufferChick had one and it liked her clam and SPS and LPS coral a lot.

I think 55 might be too small for two dwarfs - they are pretty aggressive. My dwarf rules my 90 gallon and would kill any other dwarf I put in there. He was very aggressive toward my tang. They still scuffle every now and then but are better.

How well established does an aquarium need to be to house a dwarf angel? I know some of the people I know have kept them in new tanks with some nori every couple of days and mysis. Sounds plausible?

All my LFStores told me to wait 6 months to a year, but if you get an angel that is eating well you can do it sooner. They need established live rock for grazing. I added my angel when my tank was 4 months old and he is doing great - but I had lots for him to eat off my rocks and he was eating flakes and shrimp well.

Gotcha, I'll try to find one that is eating flakes and nori. If not, I'll just wait. Thanks!
