    one more question!! so my tank is 24" wide would i need to do two strips of lights or would one set be fine? so i guess my question is do i need to double up for the width of the tank.

    No, you should be okay. If you are heavy into sps, you could bump it up to 24 XT-Es total.

    Do you think someone could grow sps in a 24 gallon jbj nanocube with 6 gu10 cw and 7 gu10 rb? 3 watts each, I think they use brigelux, rebel, or crees.

    Could it grow LPS/ softies? I can upgrade it if I buy it later on.

    Yes, and sps too, it just depends on how many you use. I may do an example build with these, as the ones I have seen look ugly, or downright dangerous, being an electrician, and knowing the code pretty well, I will build one that is "up to code" and perfectly safe over a tank of water :)
