Hold up. You need your multimeter in series to measure current. Connecting it like this is placing it in parallel, and you aren't measuring the actual current.

To use the ammeter, you need to break the circuit and place it inline.

That's what I was thinking. But with the plug-n-play, where do you test, at the end of one of the terminals?

I'm not too familiar with those kits, but I don't see why you couldn't do just that; remove the clip at one of the terminals, place your multimeter inline. Alligator clips are helpful here.

They also have terminal jumper to connect terminals to one another (each terminal can only connect, I believe, 7 led's) so you do have a + and - wire to the next terminal. Wonder if you could do it there. And thank you Evolved, for all your help. I'm sorry, Cosmo, for jumping your thread, as well. I'm just trying to figure this out.

The current needs to be measured in-line and at the beginning or end of the circuit. Your reading will not be accurate in the middle of the circuit.

Seminole, no worries! I actually pulled a led on each thread last night to double check and got the same results! I would get alligator clips though, holding those probes on the little plugs is hard!

    from rapidled!
It's easiest if you put it in between the driver jumper wire and the actual wire coming from the driver. I'd remove one wire nut, place one prong on the red wire coming from the driver and place the other prong on the red wire on the driver jumper.

Oh, btw, I am so glad you got back on track after the reefwerks debacle. Are you running 12 led's per driver?
