    I thought they ate the micro crustaceans that live on the algae?

    I'm still a little confused about how one would accidentally buy a lawnmower blenny... but what the heck, cool add!

    mine eats everything, cyclopeeze, any fish food, and any algea growing on rocks glass, mine even takes huge bites of sand and then spray it all over..

    It's prolifera (sp.??)
    I don't know if all lawnmower blennies will eat it but Jar Jar sure goes to town on it and is keeping it well maintained.

    He does indeed do that...has cleaned the back front and side wall rather well. The marks are funny and I've not cleaned the back so he can have stuff to graze on.

    i had a big lpong mower for the longest time, about 4 years got about 6 inches. also was very chubby. went through several of my tanks, but unfortunately after the yellow tang addition jumped out and found my dog with him in his mouth.... poor poor lmb

    Poor thing good to know...guess I'll be making clear mesh a top for this tank.


    Yeah his is....ours is much smaller I think and he refuses to be caught on camera.....grrr. His even posed for that picture.

    would these blennys or other fish that graze on algae on the sides of tank affect acrylic tanks? For example would their teeth scratch acrylic?
