So my tank been up and running for 5 month now. Everything seems to be just fine. Water params are good and my big 3 are good (9-10, 420, 1450)

One thing I am noticing is that my rocks do not have any kind of serious green/brown or purple algea growing on them. I have purple coraline algea on back tank glass and heaters/pumps/tubes, but none on the rocks except the original 2 live rocks i bought form LFS.

In pictures posted by other members, their rock seems to be covered with all kinds of algea, not just coraline.

Is my cleanup crew that effective that they keep the rock barren? Or is the tank just too new?

    Thanks.

Here's a sample pic of my rock. Note how barren it is:

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I do not see an comparison image.

Could a member of the CUC, or asterina star, urchin, chitons be eating the coralline before it has a chance to take hold.

At 5 months I would not expect dramatic coralline growth but a nice light purple in patches on the rock work.

Also you might want to get a smaller pieces of cured lr that has more varieties of coralline on it, scrape that with pumps off for a while and seed the tank with it.

BTW I like your avatar, it very peaceful.

as coralline sead turn pumps off and scrape from a wall or another rock it will take time took about 7 months to get a good start for me in both my tanks

you wont need to scrape a ton a little goes a long way
