Nice build, diy leds came out nice. I like the color of the bridgelux LEDs and they are pretty affordable, so, great to see more builds with them. What optics are you using?

For a 72 LED kit with dimmable drivers and everything you need besides heat sinks it is $221 shipped to melbourne, from aquastyleonline.com. That will be more than enough to light your entire tank and be able to grow sps at the bottom if you want. And then you can just find some heat sinks from heat sink USA or something and you should be able to buy everything for under $300 shipped to your house. Oh and you will need some fans which are really cheap off of ebay and you can just use a 12 volt wall wort, but it all should still be under or right at $300. The reason I waited a little bit and went with LED is because I didn't want to buy a $300 fixture and then have to buy over a hundred dollars in bulbs, and then replace them every year. If you want to see the LED kit and what it comes with HERE is a link to them. =] Just my thoughts on the situation.

Thanks! my goal on this tank is to make it look super nice and clean.

Thanks and yes they are very affordable! I love my LEDs, I only with I would have found them before I bought my LEDs for my 75, they were like $500. I am using the 50 degree that comes standard with the kit.

50 degree optics are really to penetrate deep, that's way to focuses for a 20g. Your tank isn't deep at all. So, you could probably take off the optics, or replace them with 80-90 degree and hang it a little higher. I think this is 70W right? So, that should be enough for a 20g, I don't think you need to add more, unless maybe you want all SPS and clams.

Very nice. I certainly admire anyone willing to take on plumbing issues and DIY builds. I would love to try but don't have the time with children and working 85-90+ hours every 2 weeks.

I meant 60 degree and it is going to be almost all sps and a clam or two. And they are dimmable so I rather have to much and turn them down than to not have enough. So I'm going to run them at full power and if the corals seem to be burning I will just turn them down a tad. Oh and I don't want to hang them any higher. My 75 is under lit and I didn't want the same problem with this tank.

I absolutely love DIY stuff, because you can get much better results, and have so many more options. Also you can make it to how you envision it in your head and not just have to work with what there is to buy. :) that's just the way I see it. But that is a very busy schedule and I can see why you don't have time. Maybe one day you can try it out. Oh and thanks :)
