I recently bought the Hydor Smart Wave from a fellow 3reefer and setup my 4 Koralia Evo's and one of them knocks when turning on/off. I thought the Evos were designed to NOT do this??? Help on stopping this from happening? Tank is in my livingroom and it is driving me nuts.

Honestly its about the same, but in the living room its too much. I think my biggest issue is the fact they are sold with the benefit being that they are not to knock..

I have two of those. When I bought them one clicked. The guy at the store had me return it and I did and the one he replaced it with clicked! I realized the little fan thingy was not in "just right'. Sometimes in shipping it gets jolted a tad. Mess with it gently and experiment. Good luck!

I think there is a mod for this that involves a small piece of airline tubing. I will see if I can find it.;)

I believe this mod is a small piece of airline tubing attached on the end of your impeller so when it starts it can't ride forward into the casing.

Well, my termonology isn't the greatest, but really, the guy said the impeller needs adjusting and I figured it out. He said sometimes they can get slightly bent in shipping. Mine are silent now. I barely hear anything from my tank. Hope it works out for you. I know if I'm gonna spend as much as I do on the stuff I have no reservations about taking it back 'til I'm happy! The store is usually really good about it or showing me adjustments and stuff on equipment. Hope you figure it out!
