didn't catch the tank size, but why not just get a vortech mp10/mp40? If you can afford it (or choose to afford it), you get one of the best wavemaking systems in the hobby. Extremely reliable, long lasting, high quality, great performance and settings etc.

As others have stated, you may save money up front, but if they break every year or 6 months, you've already "bought" an mp10 in a 2 years or a year, respectively.

I've considered both (and not purchased either), and If I had the money I'd get the vortech hands down.

Currently I use a MJ-1200 as a return pump and a koralia 425gph and 240gph powerheads in the display (14 gallon biocube). the powerheads run on a hydor smartwave (hydor makes koralia powerheads) and I have to say, they are great products when not on the wave maker, but are complete crap on the wave maker. I could not be more upset with a product and their customer service after I talked to them. I'll be making a thread that goes more in depth about my problems with them and the product.

I'd also check out SICCE's new powerheads, MUCH smaller than koralias and pump out more flow and use less electricity.

my LFS carries alot of SICCE products. maybe i'll go talk to him about them, he's always been very honest with me, he even sent me to another store once that had a cheaper price on something than what he could order them for. giving money to a competitor seems like a pretty good sign that he's legit about things.
