My hydor Koralia stopped running yesterday. When I touched it in the water while it was plugged in I was getting a very minor shock! I could feel it in my cuticles on my on my fingers. I unplugged it and touched it again and no shocks.
I took it apart too clean it but it still isn't working. What could be wrong?

It likely has a crack or leak that let water into the motor compartment. Either make them fulfill the warranty if there still is one, or toss and buy a new one, IMO

Hey, Midnight Madman. Try removing the impeller and while holding the cylindrical shaft, make sure the propeller spins freely on its spindle. That worked for me once. Good luck! :)

That was an issue where you got stray voltage?

    I doubt it.
Nothing will get this one going again.

No, raven. It was an issue that prevented the impeller from turning. If the prop and impeller body don't spin freely on the spindle, they won't turn in the powerhead, IME.

I misspoke up there--depending on which Korallia model, on some, the prop will spin independently of the impeller body. On others, the prop and impeller are fused together. In all scenarios though, the impeller and/or prop must spin freely on the metallic rod onto which they're threaded.

Throw it out or get it warrantied if it's new enough.

I'll save it for parts. I have two others. I bought 3 of them used from someone for $20 bucks.
