Hey guys, right now I took off the safty guard that you put in front of koralia. And it has increased my flow really wide ranged. But now since the front is unprotected from the guard, the fan blade is easy to get to. But i seen some people dont use the guards in their tanks. Help?

Should I leave it on? or leave it off?

The guard or the flow director nozzle? The power head shouldn't be even able to work without the guard, as it supports the other end of the shaft.

    Oh, the nozzle thingy.
Yep, I never ran them on mine. In all honesty it doesn't present any more danger IMHO. The holes are just the same size from the front. If it fits in it with it off, it'll fit in there with it one.

I have one on and one off on two of my Koralia 3s. One on for narrower flow because of the corals and such that that flow hits. If I turn the PHs off for more than a minute or two, I have to check for snails, that's the only time they go into the PH and get on the propeller blade. The larger snails graze all over the outside of the PHs and there's never been a problem with the snails or the PH.
