Ok so I knew something was off in my tank since the power was restored but couldn't put my finger on it untill I was cleaning my tank a few days ago, since the cyano has had a feild day in there.

It seems as though the Kolralia Evo 750 has reversed the flow and is taking water in from the front and shooting it out the back. I had just moved it before the power outage and just thought the lack of good flow was due to that and plannned to move it back to it's old position while cleaning the tank. Any ideas why it's doing this and can it be fixed?

Reverse motor rotation is usually due to wires getting crossed. I don't have one of these pumps, but it could be possible that the plug is turned backwards in the receptacle. Try flipping it.

Contact Hydor, they have a free fix for this. They had a problem with the bushings in some of the early production units but have since fixed it and offer a replacement part for those who contact them directly.

I had the same thing happen to me quite a bit when I started running the evos on a wavemaker. A dab of reef glue to hold the bushing down and it hasn't happened since. Quick n easy.

I had the problem numerous times with my 2 750gph Evo's, here's the info from Hydor's website, def shoot them an email or call them:

    ATTENTION KORALIA EVOLUTION OWNERS
Hydor has discovered a slight modification is necessary to ensure the proper functioning of some Koralia Evo Pumps.

The issue is that some pumps can run backwards over time when used with certain timers and wavemaker devices.

The problem can usually be corrected by a simple cleaning of the impeller bushing, bushing o-ring and bushing housing with any safe solvent such as rubbing alcohol.

Hydor has a modified bushing and bushing housing available to the consumer at no charge.

Please contact Hydor USA at any time for assistance at 916-920-5222 or 866-493-6787 or [email protected]

I asked Hydor for 2 new wings and they sent me 4. Have not had a problem with the pumps reversing since the new wings have been installed.
