I have had 2 Hydor Koralia Evo 750's stop working within the last 2 weeks.
They are around a year old - maybe?
I have been running them on a JBJ Ocean Pulse wavemaker.
Both of the magnets have swelled up and split, which wedges them and stops the flow.

I did send Hydor an email and they said they would send a replacement, but I haven't received it yet.

Just wondering what may have caused it ... and how to prevent it.
    >Running on a wavemaker? ... they are supposed to be wavemaker compatible.
    >Design flaw? ... I haven't heard of this problem before.
    >Cleaning them with vinegar? ... I have just recently heard that vinegar can damage them, but is that just so Hydor can market "their" cleaning solution?
    ... or something else .... ????

    Anyone ever see this before?

I had the exact same thing happen, but not using a wavemaker. Contacted Hydor, and they sent me a new one free of charge. I even told them that I bought it used, and was willing to pay for a new one. Took a bit to get it.

I called Hydor last week and the guy told me to go through the website. Emailed them about the parts I needed and got no response.Yesterday I sent another email asking for some one to respond. Got a reply this morning "what parts do you need?' Argh!! Replyed again so I am now waiting for a response.:loco:
I have noticed some cracks forming on the magnets lately but not a s bad as the ones in your pic.

Yes Evo 750's they are almost a year old. Of the four I have two have broken covers and I lost a couple of the little orings down the sink.(my fault) I haven't had any issues with the nano's in my frag tank. I am not used to breaking things and am usually very carefull in how I handle my equipment.(That sounds naughty) I guess the tabs on these covers just get brittle over time. I am going to keep an eye on these magnets and they are not on a WM.

Same thing happened to mine. The splits look identical to mine and had I not know any better I would have thought you had come over to my house and took photos of my impeller.
