I think that you should be ok. Check to see what the max weight is for the cabinet in question like suggested above. They always under rate that weight to cover the Co. legally. I have a 24 gallon QT tank sitting on a microwave cart that is rated to hole 90 lbs. max. The tank is prob. more around 225 lbs. or so. I did put a few 90* metal brackets in 4 corners, top and bottom. Been that way for 3 years with no issues.

Well the one I'm actually looking to get is a cabinet that is supposed to be hung on the wall. I'm not sure they would give a max lb rating since the top would be against the ceiling.
I was looking at the ones that are for the floor with a counter on top to, but those have a notch in the front by the floor and the cabinet kinda overhangs that notch. I figured that would not look good at all.
I have to really go look and see and maybe I can make my mind up once I stand on top of the cabinet in the middle of the store lol

If you got a measuring tape, a skill saw and a drill, you can easily make a stand that will hold the weight of a car. well, not quiet but you get the point. Heres one I made for my 33G and its solid as a rock. Galvanized braces were made for decks i found at lowes depot.

I do like the look of that. Problem is it won't really blend with my family room furniture. What did u use on the top? I will need to make something like that.

The top was just a piece of plywood. But not the cheap kind you just use as siding, the nice finished plywood sheets that are like $48 a sheet. But for a 10G, you could just use a 1x12 slab precut to 20" from lowes. And paint the thing whatever color you want. If you dont like the galvanized look, for a 10G you could get away with just using some 90* metal braces on the inside of the 2x4's and you wouldnt even see them. Or, you could just buy the cabinet you been looking at, lol. Just trying to help with some ideas.

And since I have photobucket up Ill be nice and share my planted tank with you. :)

Obviously its not complete. The driftwood will soon be covered in moss to look like a tree with some stem plants in the back left corner. My version of Takashi Amano's Natural aquarium and Iwagumi mix. :-/;D

    Thanks for the tips!
And your tank is really nice. I've actually been looking at planted tanks the past few weeks and I am impressed with some of the set ups I've seen. Yours included. Do you got a build thread on yours?

Unfortunately not yet. Im kinda weird where I dont do a build thread until I actually finish the entire build, that way people can see the entire build within the first few pages without having to wait months to find out what happened. haha.
Plus I have to figure out how to use my wifes DSLR so I can get some good pics of the completed tank. I swear her camera is smarter than me. Aperture, white balance, shutter speed, iso AHHHHH its all to confusing to me.
