    You dont need the big fancy equipment but a lot of it can make the journey easier.

    Ill start/ This is my 10 year old 46 before I took it down. No skimmer no sump, never did a water change. Great for softees, my couple LPS did very well, and It never had more than 4 fish... which I didnt feed because there were enough pods. FYI i also never scraped the glass regularly.
