Kidney Stones!!!

Well wensday evening I all of a sudden got a sharp pain in my lower right side of my stomache. After about one hour i couldn't take it and went to the E.R. Theysaid i have a kidney stone stuck between the kidney and bladder.I'm trying to man up but WOW sometimes the pain is pretty ruff.thank you for pain killers! i couldn't imagine what people did 200 yrs ago:-[.

 

Most of them died

So, do they expect you to be able to pass it? I've heard women tell that they'd rather go through childbirth than pass a kidney stone. That tells me that it's gotta hurt like the ****ens!

 

Damn that sucks. I just found out that I may have gallstones. Not sure though because i had severe pain for a week in the right pectoral area and now its gone

 

I had one a while back, scared me to death thinking about passing it. they even gave me these filter thingies to pee through so I could catch the stone when it passed for analysis. after I left the hospital all doped up on pain meds and anti kidney inflamatorys I never passed it (or realized that it had passed) . . . must have broken up somewhere along the line.

Yeah they said it SHOULD pass threw on its own. got me on IV and lots of fluids i can't remember having to urinate so often lol. they said if it doesn't then they'll have to go inside and do somethin lol. crossing my fingers.

 

A friend od mine had a kidney stone. He is 6'-6", 285, body builder/non-sanctioned fighter...tough-as-nails kinda guy. He dropped to his knees, tearing up in front of me once because of the pain. He went to the doctor and had it surgically removed...didn't want to try to pass it.

 

I have 2 close friends that had thier gallbladders removed a couple of years back. and both are doing just fine without them. Hopefully yours won't act up anymore. good luck;D

 

lol yeah its pretty awkward racing to the bathroom towing the IV, moving the gown,& trying too pee into a container through a strainer! lol all while wondering if i'll get a painfull SURPRISE while i'm going

 

yeah i'm not gonna lie, i had an attack this morning where i was curled in so much pain that before i realized it tears were pouring down my face it was crazy! i've had afew of injurys in my life. teeth knocked out, one finger cut completly off, broken bones,&pneumonia 3 times, but this wins.I even vomited?(they said that you can vomite with severe pain? never heard of that)I can't remember the last time that happened.

 

i know they sometimes will use sonic blasts to break up the stones. so theyre a bit more managable to pass.y6ou sit in a big tub of water and they bombard the area with sonic waves. kidney stones always remind of kramer from seinfeld when he passed one. lol
