KH dosing raising Magnesium?

My calculations are probably incorrect seeing as how I guesstimated some things and didn't use Sparky's equation for water volume yet.But based on 43.2 total system volume and with an initial KH of 6 I began dosing ESV alkalinity 4 nights ago at 11mL drip dose each night in order to raise it to 10. As of this writing I haven't noticed a significant increase with today's readings coming in at 7.7 KH.I'm using Salifert as well.Funny thing is my magnesium had also been increasing by at least 30ppm every night I test. It's low as well and I'll be dosing for it soon, but anyone else ever notice this? Just wondering

You shouldn't see an increase in Mg unless there is some in the KH dose.

You could always take a couple drops, mix with an ounce of RO water, and test it for mag with a kit. That way, you'd be sure.

I was always under the assumption that many Ca products contained Mg in them. That's why I like the BRS two part system (really a 3 part system)as you can control all three on their own.

Some do and some don't need to read the labels always in this hobby.

My LFS doesn't carry BRS and I've read raves on the ESV products which is why I went with them. Perhaps in the future.
