Leathers should be fairly easy to remove. The devils hand if you can get a good hold on it should be able to just be manually removed. The Kenya may be a little more difficult. The best way is to get a pair of side cutters and cut the rock at the base of it. Sounds harder then it is. The LR is fairly brittle and should be easy to "cut". Asmall chisel works well too just be careful.;)

If you cut the base (not rock) it will still grow back... Kinda cool but very annoying pest in your tank. I regret buying the Kenya and Pulsating Xenya, both were weeds in my tank.

Yes you want to cut the rock under the base.;) Also I would make sure you have fresh carbon running while removing them.

You know actually I wouldn't mind driving up to OH, EXCEPT ITS JANUARY! I fell for the trick once when I was 18, went up to Cleveland in Decemeber and there were 6' high piles of snow on each side. I think I'll wait it out down here in beautiful Appalachia land!

Plus my subaru has over 200k miles, it doesn't like leaving the mountains and then coming back up them!

I really would like a frogspawn though. I heard they can be placed right next to Hammer coral since they are almost the same.

My hammer coral looks beautiful under the actinics and I cant wait for it to fill up like I always see pictures. Also frogspawn looks like it'd be pretty under actinics and it looks like it grows really full and really fast!

Sorry for the double photo bomb but that's mine under blue light. I wish my camera did a better job with blue light.

I had the same thing happen and took it as a sign that it was time to get rid of it. My tank has some space behind the live rock that's hard to get to that the kenya tree continuously spread to. TBH it was a pain in the butt coral to keep, and when it got sick (after I changed my 7 VHOs) I took it out after about a week. My advice to anyone new would be not to add one; they're too hard to keep under control and just add a lot of work to keeping your tank looking nice.

My LFS will take decent sized frags (2-3") for $10, I usually trade them for Zooanth's or something! The devil's hand should bring some interest if not by the LFS than advertise elsewhere (ebay, craigslist, local reef club etc.) I find that local people are willing to trade.

+1 On the droppong babies, I have them all over my 55 gallon!
