Is it safe to drip 1teaspoon of Kalkwasser mix in a one gallon jug filled with RO/DI water every time I top off for evaporation?

Some people use kalk for their top off and have great luck.

I have never done that, but part of me says that evaporation rates go up and down based on a whole host of various conditions which means your kalk dosing will vary as well along with it.

I have mine on a separate pump

Ok well as long as I won't be over loading my tank with Kalkwasser and it ends up poisoning the tank.

I'm not really trying to "dose" kalk. I simply just mix it with my top off water and drip about 20minutes every other day.

I own a 29g Biocube so the water level drops about .25" a day in the back chambers and it's not very easy to do. I am trying to figure out a way to either let gravity top off my water or purchasing a $60 ATO from my LFS.

Either way as long as it is safe to add RO/DO water that is mixed with Kalk every time I top off then that's all I am worried about regarding this concern.

It should be safe - just monitor your Calc and Alk.
