    it does, I had a stainless steel clamp on my return pump that started rusting, which is why I switched to nylon.

    I would avoid any metal within the aquarium.

    its stainless not stain free, i'm a boat captain and there is no grade of any metal i've seen that resists electrolysis or doesn't corrode.

    what about titanium heaters that we put in our tank? will they rust too? don't it have to be exposed to air for rust to happen? i'm just saying....

    If I'm not mistaken, stainless steel is an alloy of several metals one of which is copper.
    Not reef safe.

    There is plenty of 02 dissolved in your tank water to oxidize metals, and remember you replace those titanium heaters, they don't last forever.

    i had mine for about 8 months now, how long until you have to replace them?
