Hey again all.  Well today, I set up my tank.  46 gallon bow front.  Put in 40 pounds of caribsea aragonite reef sand, and a 20 pound bag of live sand(for roughly a 2-3 in deep sand bed.  12 pounds of live rock, and 12 pounds of base rock.  A 250gph sweeping powerhead, have a skimmer, but it is not currently skimming, and a 100 watt heater.  I am also getting a 6x39 watt T5 lighting fixture.  All that fun stuff.  Any suggestions as to what else I may need.

Also, my SG is between 1.024-1.025 which if I am not mistaken, is right around the area you are supposed to have it. Haven't checked out the nitrates, nitrates, and ph yet, but I will for Christmas. I can tell I have stuff that needs to get munched on. Got a couple dead shrimp things(whatever they are called-the little guys that hide in the weeds)

I have it on at the moment, but it is just running water. I will set it to make that tasty looking green sludge right now. Oh, I don't know if this is bad or not, but I have found a little red crab claw with black tips(Don't know if it is a live crab, or just came with the rock, as I have not seen a crab yet)

Well, as of now, it will be a FOWLR. Eventually, when I get better with water parameters, feeding, etc., I will start adding corals and the like. A 6x39 watt T5 fixture should be enough for corals correct, if you go 5 watts per gallon. I would have 234 watt, compared to my tanks need of 230. Also, T5 is brighter then a flourescent of the same wattage, like double the brightness I think. To think...If I only lived in Florida, I wouldnt have to pay all this cash for a saltwater fish tank...I could go on the reef, and try not to get eaten by a big shark.
