i hate algae also, got me a few snails coming tomorrow which should hopefully clean it up :).

A barnicle, possibly, but it looks like a curled up sort of worm? it has a mouth sort of thing, and was also eating some cloudy looking thing earlier. (the mouth seems to be at the top) also i have never noticed it there before, and i spend quite a bit of time looking at my tank.

It's a vermetid snail, some are small diameter upright tubes, but some look like a circular snail shell on it's side,in a semi circle. They send out there web to capture any fine food, out of your water column.Their web can arritate sps,i had the same species on a cap.I carefully destroyed the shell, and the cap grew over that area.
