    well, I consider myself somewhat of an expert on nitrate reduction unfortunately. The absolute best methods of nitrate reduction is use RO/DI water, maintain good husbandry and don't overfeed. Having additional methods of nutrient export such as chaeto, quality skimmer are also important. You want a good amount of live rock and I would recommend a limited depth sand bed (1-2 inches). Keep up with regular water changes and detritrus removal (blow off rocks and have good flow) at least weekly or biweekly. Have a good CUC. So, if by doing all of this over the long run, you experience high nitrates, then you can look at additional methods to control nitrates. I can also help there if you'd like to inquire ;)

    If you run GFO it's good to use carbon as a prefilter to improve the life of your GFO.
